Dr. Carl T. Talmo has been in practice at New England Baptist Hospital since 2006, specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. He also serves as Assistant Chief of Orthopedic Research, where he is responsible for the oversight, growth, and development of the orthopedic research program.
Dr. Talmo has been actively involved in the development and ongoing promotion of the NEBH Total Joint Registry, which significantly improves the tracking of implants and helps to ensure continued top quality orthopedic care for patients.
His research interests include pain management in total knee replacement (TKR), alignment in TKR, corrosion in total hip replacement (THR), rehabilitation after hip and knee replacement, and management of infection following total joint replacement. He has numerous publications in these areas in the orthopedic literature.
